The 'message student' feature is a great way to keep in touch directly with specific students during school closures.

Only head mentors
How can you make someone a head mentor?
Log in as admin , and use the search boxes to search for the member of staff you'd like to give head mentor permissions to. Click on their name in the results list then modify account details to set them as Head Mentor. Alternatively, get in touch with the customer support team to make any changes.
